Only £12.99 post free ABOUT THE ALBUMThe first new album from Joe Boy in sven years goes straight to Soul City USA Detroit for a long awaited compilation by revered vocal harmony outfit The Precisions. The group's most creative period was at the indie label Drew where the cream of Motor City's Soul community - musicians (including Motown's Funk Brothers), producers, songwriters and arrangers - were drafted in to craft a series of 45s now acclaimed as all time Soul classics. The Precisions were a singles band fueling the 60s Detroit demand for 45s. They never released an album, so, this compilation of their complete Drew recordings - including unreleased masters - aims to finally put that right. The CD comes complete with a deluxe 12 page booklet featuring detailed sleeve notes and rare illustrations. As an added coup legendary, and up-till-now elusive, 60s Detroit producer/writer and musician George McGregor has been tracked down and has written an exclusive foreword. George was A&R director at Sidra/Drew and oversaw The Precisions’ career at the label. He claims that if they had been on Motown they would been "bigger than the Temptations". Certainly The Precisions recorded some of the best songs to emerge from the creative Soul music cauldron that was Detroit in the 60s and this album bears testimony to that. 01.
